The gynoids appear in the novel "Pioneers" . They were androids with female morphology created for the pleasure of the male. Three of these artificial geishas were reprogrammed to explore Hôdo and examine the behavior of the first humans on the new planet. These three automats named themselves the "gynoids" and were the first representives of the "Homo syntheticus" . The homo syntheticus lives in synergy with the homo sapiens. On Hôdo, she/he lives publicly with its true identity. Her/His emotional range is almost similar to that of his organic cousin, but aggressiveness was substituted by an engine of "creativity". Although he is almost not emotive, he tends to be very sensitive to the regard that the human carries to him. This feature of character comes from the initial function: "to like to the man". By coquettery, gynoids avoids damaging its skin, more fragile than that of the human ones, and which heals less easily. He is excellent for the precision, the memory and the speed of certain intellectual and manual operations. On the other hand, it does not move quickly, and does not swim absolutely. Moreover, he suffers from a lack of autonomy because he has two brains: one heavy and static containing his knowledge, and a internal which gives him only his personality. Far from a host computer, he has only some few memory to remember the essential of his activities in progress, and does not have any more encyclopaedic knowledge. The reproduction of the homo syntheticus is made by the exchange of the static information of a gynoid and dynamics of a android. The attribution of the sex is randomly given as long as one of them is not lower than 40% of the local population. The new one born, which has a structure of adult, is entrusted to human parents. He becomes full member of the hôdon family which adopts it. |
