Predominance

Freedom is essential for the happiness of the Earthman.

Hôdon prefers to speak about autonomy and free will, and establishes a ensemblist model of this freedom.

Indeed, each living being needs to have a set of resources.

The union of the resources increases the common potential, but an intersection is essential for the exchange. Unfortunately, this space of exchange, essential to the communication, causes also conflict because everything is not necessarily shareable there.

Thus, when two Hôdons cohabit in the same volume of noises, each one can want to fill it with annoyances for the other. In this case, the colonists of Hôdo try to regulate the conflict by the avoidance which is important to them. But that is not always easy in practice, since often this situation implies for at least one of the both parts to leave a resource.

There is thus possibility of a ratio of force in the negotiations...

Whichever used means, physical, biological or psychic, it is the strongest one which wins. The Earthmen established very complex laws to determine which was "legally" the strongest one. These laws never could satisfy everyone. Also, writing these laws becames the stake and the tool of any kind of power.

It is easier to be opposed to an adversary or a visible obstacle that an undetectable ones. Thus, it is common to give the illusion that overcome is convinced to gain and that the strongest one is "morally" the best.

The more the systems "are popularized" or "democratized", the more the forms of predominance draped with "politically correct" holiness.

The crusades change mythology, but the gods who control are the same ones and the blood of human is always red.

It seems inescapable that the ratio of force takes place in any interraction. Any solution which would deny it would be pure utopian view. Nevertheless, it is not inconceivable to tend towards a peaceful balance. For that, Hôdons use some simple rules.

The respect of the intelligence is more constraining than the respect of the life. Hôdons prohibit murder, rape, torture, mutilation not only physical but also, and especially, mental. This law imposes more duties to them, because it implies that Hôdons are also alone responsible for their intelligence.

But one needs a certain courage to be Hôdon: it is alone and naked face to face with its conscience.
